The return - Karl Lagerfeld

In December 1953, Coco Chanel began her incredible return to center stage. The designer reopens her Haute Couture house after fifteen years of absence. The collection is welcomed by the French press with an icy silence. Only the American media supports the looks that define the rebirth of Chanel's style. "The Return" retraces this determining period, that shaped the legend of the designer of rue Cambon forever. "The Return," imagined, written and directed by Karl Lagerfeld, features Geraldine Chaplin in the role of Gabrielle Chanel, Rupert Everett, Anna Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech, Arielle Dombasle, Kati Nescher, Vincent Darré and Sam McKnight. #CHANEL #CHANELFashion #KarlLagerfeld Credits: Sonata for Oboe and Piano, Op. 185_Scherzo Music by Francis Poulenc © (1962) Chester Music Ltd Courtesy of Première Music Group Indésens Digital License: Alexandre Gattet, oboe Emmanuel Strosser, piano

Reincarnation by Karl Lagerfeld

“Reincarnation” is the new short film created and directed by Karl Lagerfeld to accompany the CHANEL Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d'art collection shown on December 2nd, 2014 in Salzburg. This new short film was the perfect opportunity for Karl Lagerfeld to develop an artistic collaboration with Pharrell Williams, a close friend of the House and personal friend of the designer. In fact, the artist composed and wrote the lyrics to "CC The World," the original soundtrack for Reincarnation, and he also plays one of the lead roles and will be, along with Cara Delevingne, the face of the upcoming campaign of the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d'art collection. #CHANEL #CHANELFashion #KarlLagerfeld

Aria

Debuting in a special film co-directed by award-winning photographer and director Floria Sigismondi and Alessandro Michele, Aria. A singular voice, taking its turn in the spotlight; in the Italian language, ‘air’. In his notes on the collection, the Creative Director calls it “a deep and ecstatic diving in everything we yearningly miss today… a jubilee of breath.” In the year of Gucci’s centenary, Alessandro Michele opens the locks of history, only to find a deeply personal vision of the mythology that surrounds the brand. Standing sentinel is the Savoy Club—a tribute to The Savoy Hotel in London where founder Guccio Gucci worked as a liftboy in his youth. Once inside, Aria’s “hacking lab made of incursions and metamorphoses”—from Alessandro Michele’s notes on the show—is unveiled, featuring elements from House heritage and designs from Demna Gvasalia, Creative Director of Balenciaga, ultimately expressions of reverence and homage. #GucciAria #AlessandroMichele Music: The soundtrack, by Alessandro Michele and mixed by Lawrence Rothman, comprises a selection of songs featuring the word Gucci, speaking to the staying power of the Maison and how profusely it contributed to the vocabulary of pop culture.
